David Hockney

Celia and David Hockney have been friends since the late 1960s. David first drew Celia in Paris in the early 70s, in John Richardson’s apartment. Since then they have collaborated many times, and her image has been immortalised by him – she can be seen in many art galleries around the world. Perhaps the most famous painting is Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy, which shows Celia with her then husband, the fashion designer Ossie Clark at their home in Notting Hill in 1972.
