Celia Birtwell collaborated with Daniel Lee on Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, presented at London Fashion Week. Her floral drawings and colourful face motifs appear alongside a reinterpretation of Burberry’s signature check, bringing her distinctive approach to print into the collection.

About Celia Birtwell
A Life in Pattern
Born in Bury and trained in textile design in Salford, Celia Birtwell moved to London in 1962, quickly becoming part of the creative spirit of the period. Her romantic, witty prints transformed fashion through her work with Ossie Clark and created with him a completely new approach to women’s clothes that defined the 1960s and 70s. She also became a close friend with the celebrated artist David Hockney, and was his muse for many years She has worked in fashion and home textiles, in her own name and with many international collaboration, using new designs and reworkings of her classic archives. Celia’s work continues to influence how pattern, colour, and personality can shape the things we wear and the spaces in which we live.
